Rookies (7u-8u)

Division Statement
In this division we further develop our softball program and expect all girls to hit, throw, and catch with minimal assistance. In this division, girls are introduced to "player pitch" where players from the other team will pitch against them. This division plays with umpires, called balls and strikes, and 3 outs per half inning. Due to safety concerns, positions in the field get more specialized and players start to get familiar with infield and outfield positions. Each team is responsible for developing pitchers in this division and the expectation is players will pitch to players. If a pitcher is struggling, the coach will come in and finish the at bat, ending in either a strikeout or ball put in play.

Opening Ceremonies
2024 Spring Baseball/Softball for Little League
Playoffs - The Minor and Major League divisions for baseball/softball will each have their own playoff tournament
Championship Weekend
Baseball Minor and Major League championship games
Softball Minor and Major League championship games
Baseball 8u All-Star Game
Softball Rookies All-Star Game
Various other games for all levels
Accompanied by a picnic and festivities
Players ages 9 through 12 are eligible to try out for Williamsport (LLWS) teams
Players ages 8 through 12 are eligible to try out for Smithtown Bulls travel teams

T-Ball - Monday and Friday (10 to 11 games)
6u - Monday and Wednesday (12 to 13 games)
7u - Tuesday and Thursday (12 to 13 games)
8u - Wednesday and Friday (12 to 13 games)
Minors - Tuesday and Thursday (13 games)
Majors - Monday and Friday (13 games)

2024 Spring Softball Game Days

Farms (5u/6u) - Tuesday and Thursday (12 to 13 games)
Rookies (7u/8u) - Wednesday and Friday (12 to 13 games)
Minors (9u/10u) - Tuesday and Friday (13 games)
Majors (11u/12u) - Mon/Wed/Fri (alternates between these days) (13 games)

This program is for those kids who want to learn the game in a more structured environment
Practices will be held 430 - 530 on Tuesdays starting on 4/23 and running until 6/11
