Umpires Wanted

WANTED: Baseball AND softball umpires!

Employing umpires from within our community is a vital part of our league’s success. It’s a great way for our league alumni to earn money doing something they enjoy, while staying connected to the game they love, and contributing to the fun, competitive environment that has become synonymous with SJSLL.

We invite all past umpires, as well as new prospects for 2023, to join us this upcoming season. Over the next few weeks, we will be holding two events – one general information meeting and a mandatory clinic.

General Umpires Meeting:
Wednesday, March 22, 7:00 PM at the Smithtown Library on Middle Country Road in Smithtown

Mandatory Umpires Clinic:
Saturday, March 25, 3:00 PM at Gaynor Park in St. James (Rain date: Sunday, March 26)

If you plan on umpiring for the 2023 season, you should attend both of these functions.

* All umpires must be at least 13-years-old to umpire for SJSLL
* Umpires earn $35 per game
* For every 10 games worked, umpires will receive a $50 bonus

We hope to see faces both new and familiar in the coming weeks. Thank you for your continued support, and look forward to seeing you all out on the field this April.
